Reforestation
The process of restoring barren grassland is called 'reforestation'. To make the overgrown land useful again, it is necessary to fight the all-consuming grass, which is called ‘Imperata cylindrica’ in Latin (the locals call it ‘Alang Alang’). We do this on the basis of our scientific expertise in the field of agriculture and adopt a sustainable, responsible approach. We control the Imperata by placing ground covers, legumes and shade-casting shrubs to naturally suffocate the grasses. In this way there is room for the growth of new plants and we facilitate the development of rich forests. This process is also used for the transformation into agricultural land or agroforestry.
